Paige is heading to Auburn University and what a better way to share than with unique background pictures. The kind that not everyone else has! I love it when a client asks for this type of thing! I thrive when my creativity can shine through. Always, if you have the opportunity, make your pictures unique for you and your family! That way, you will always love them.

Grab your hiking boots, your pack, your dress and bouquet and lets hit the trail to say "I do"We started the day at the cabins by the water. All these beautiful boats were all around and we took full advantage of taking pictures with them to catch all the vibes of the day. We changed her into the dress to head to the trail...but first... one more with the boats Adventure weddings are the hottest thing right now! They are so unique and special and I LIVE FOR THEM!What is an ADVENTURE ELOPEMENT? It is just that! An elopement that is filled with adventure! It can be a yurt sleepover with all your loved ones, in the middle of no where or just the two of you under a waterfall. Think breathtaking views and becoming one with nature. People love this type of wedding because they feel most connected when in the great outdoors. WHO WOULD DO THIS The couples who want this type of wedding tend to have a love of travel and passion for exploring. They want to be unique. They throw all the rules out the window and do things the way they want to. They typically don't want the stress that "traditional" can bring. They are fearless and definitely not afraid of a little dirt. They live life on the edge, wear their hearts on their sleeves and value experiences over things. WHERE CAN WE DO THIS With an adventure wedding, the possibilities are endless. From mountains, to waterfalls, to beaches, to caves. To get to the destination of your choice, you can have four-wheeler rides, horseback riding, helicopter rides, Literally, wherever or however your imagination takes you! WHEN SHOULD WE HAVE OUR ADVENTURE WEDDING? Consider where you want to go and research. Look at weather, does your destination have a rainy season? Think about Tourism, is it a tourist area and does it have a peak season? If so, consider the crowds, longer lines and booked lodging. HOW DO WE MAKE THIS HAPPEN? Contact me and we can reserve your date, Talk about pricing, ask and answer all the questions, bounce ideas and then all you have to do from there is relax, have fun, enjoy yourself and of course adventure! Need Timeline Ideas? We got you covered there too!

If not, then why not ask them to all write a little letter full of best wishes to read after the ceremony and catch those sweet moments on camera and video. *The first dance UMMM..YES PLEASE.. why not have your first dance just the 2 of you with this amazing view! Who can say they did that?? *The adventures hiking, kayaking, off roading, fishing, or walking through town with that gorgeous dress and beautiful smile that the 2 of you share will all be caught on camera! TAKE MY ADVICE
Always dance with your father and mother at your wedding day! Those pictures and videos may be all you have one day sooner than later. I didn't do a parent dance at my wedding. I lost my father a year and a half later. And I kick myself everyday for not having those photos and that experience with him.
My client and friend got news her father was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He wasn't given very long to live. She was determined that we will walk her down the isle. So she threw together a wedding in 3 days so she could have those memories and these photo's. She lost him soon afterwards. These pictures are something she will always cherish. She messages me often and tells me how thankful she is to have them.
So on your wedding day, if you are not eloping and even if you think it is an inconvenience, plan for those special pictures and/or the dances. I promise you won't regret it!
SMOOCH BOOTH SESSIONSFor Valentines day, I had a themed session called the "smooch booth" and they were super cute! We took a pallet and made it into a prop called the smooch booth. We had all things Valentines day including heart shaped balloons, messenger candy, and "love" signs. Although they weren't the most popular themed session I have ever done, they turned out sooo cute! I will be doing these again next year as well.
You are engaged... do you have the pictures taken?Engagement Sessions have become one of my favorite things to photograph. I know we talked about this before but I continue to get the question "should we do engagement pictures?" I always say "YES!" Engagement pictures are the best way to get to know your wedding photographer, to learn how they work, what poses you like best, and as a bonus, you get gorgeous pictures to cherish. Picking a wedding photographer is a hard task. You may love their pictures but are you going to love their personality, Are they going to get you your pictures in a timely manner, etc. The engagement session is a way for you to learn all these things. You probably have spoken on the phone with your wedding photographer and maybe even have met them in person but actually working with them before the wedding is something even better. As a wedding photographer, it is good for us as well. It helps us help you trust us, learn what you are comfortable with as far as poses go, and what type of pictures you like best. This helps us even more to take those amazing pictures on your wedding day! So if you are on the fence about having the engagement pictures taken, don't be. Do it, I promise you won't regret it and you will more than likely have fun doing it as well!
Sometimes a photographer just needs to tell her client the vision they have and execute it! I brought formal dresses and found some sand piles and made it happen! Of course after a few minutes of taking pictures on the sand hill, we were asked to leave (even though it was public property, in the middle of a parking lot, and we were not hurting anything) and I didn't even get halfway started on taking the pictures I had hoped for. I guess if you are a photographer, you have been kicked off property a time or two right...? Even Though I wasn't very happy, I also didn't want confrontation so we packed up and headed to a different location. I Just had to brush it off and get back in my creative mode. Especially since we were running out of light. After we got to the new location off the beaten path, we took a few pictures in the beautiful black dress and then moved on to our next look which looked AMAZING with the backdrop that had been created for us! It wasn't exactly what I had set out for but it was gorgeous none the less. We didn't let a little set back take away our photoshoot or creativity. Putting someone somewhere where they don't belong is what I love to do! A formal dress on a sand mound was the perfect example... but so is a formal dress and an abandoned train on a gravel road! Always take the road less traveled!!
ADULT BIRTHDAY SESSIONS ARE THE BEST!
One of my all time favorite types of sessions are the adult birthday sessions! They are so much fun to do, in studio or outside! If you are over 25 years old.... these sessions are DEFINITELY FOR YOU! Below is a session we did this past weekend in the studio. I can't begin to tell you how much fun we had!
